A few words from Francesco Billari

Bocconi University is proud to host the 2024 U7+ Alliance Presidential Summit, that will take place in Milano on April 11 and 12, 2024. 

We wish to welcome all of the U7+ Presidents on Campus, together with one Presidential Delegate per university, to renew our shared commitment to tackling pressing global issues. 

As universities, we are naturally open, forward-looking institutions, constantly engaged in promoting societal progress. Our major tools are the advancement of the frontier of knowledge through research, the education of responsible citizens and the promotion of constructive dialogue with both local and international communities. 

We believe that pursuing inclusion, at all levels, is a priority for a global alliance of universities, therefore the title of the 2024 U7+ Presidential Summit is “Inclusive Education for Inclusive Societies”.

The shaping of debates and discussions taking place during the Presidential Summit will make the most of the preparatory works done by U7+ Working Groups:

- Global Access to Higher Education
- Climate Change and Sustainability
- Human-Centered AI

While addressing their specific topic, working groups also consider what opportunities there are for G7 policy engagement as well as intersections with issues of academic freedom. 

Our aim is in fact to provide G7 leaders, who will meet in Puglia in June 2024 under the Italian presidency, with a constructive contribution of the higher education sector to the global agenda. 

Bocconi University is very much looking forward to hosting the Summit and welcoming to Milano all the participants from the U7+ Alliance.
